Quick-start: general business

From sign-up to a published MCP server and a first agent conversion in under an hour, for a business in any industry.

This guide uses the general business pack, the published pack that makes every AGORA module work for a business nobody anticipated. It needs no industry-specific setup. Allow about 45 minutes; each step names the console page and the equivalent API call.

Before you start

  • An AGORA workspace. Start a trial at /signup or call POST /v1/signup.
  • A description of what you offer: a platform to connect, a CSV or JSON file, or a few offerings to type in.
  • Optional: curl and a terminal for the API steps. The API base is https://app.fondaq.ai/v1 and the current version is 2026-10-25.

1. Create the workspace (5 minutes)

In the console, /signup asks for the business name, a website or a one-paragraph description, and your country. AGORA proposes a pack from the description with a confidence score and you confirm it; choose General business if nothing more specific fits. You can combine packs later.

curl -s https://app.fondaq.ai/v1/signup -H 'Content-Type: application/json' -d '{
  "email": "owner@example.test", "password": "a-long-demo-passphrase",
  "business_name": "Anybiz Demo", "description": "We offer workshops, consultations and a monthly plan.",
  "accept_terms": true, "accept_dpa": true, "issue_api_key": true }'

The response returns the tenant, the first merchant and, when issue_api_key is set, an API key once. Keep it.

2. Authenticate (2 minutes)

Every call sends the key and the API version:

export AGORA_API_KEY=... # from step 1, or Developers > API keys in the console
curl -s https://app.fondaq.ai/v1/merchants -H "Authorization: Bearer $AGORA_API_KEY" -H "Agora-Version: 2026-10-25"

POST requests also send an Idempotency-Key; a retry with the same key replays the first answer for 24 hours.

3. Bring in what you offer (10 minutes)

Pick one method. Each lands in the Business Graph with provenance on every field.

  • A platform: see Connectors. In the demo every platform is a recorded-fixture stand-in.
  • A file: CSV or JSON with one row per offering. Columns map to the core attributes (name, description, price or fee, duration, availability, location, languages, policy references) plus free typed attributes.
  • By hand: the onboarding wizard's offering step.
curl -s https://app.fondaq.ai/v1/merchants/$MID/connections -H "Authorization: Bearer $AGORA_API_KEY" \
  -H "Agora-Version: 2026-10-25" -H "Idempotency-Key: qs-connect-001" -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -d '{ "method": "csv", "csv": "name,description,price\nIntro session,A first meeting,0\n" }'

The general pack accepts every offering kind, including other. Anything the core set does not cover becomes a free typed attribute (string, number, quantity, enum, boolean or date) on your merchant's schema.

4. Add locations, people and policies (10 minutes)

Locations and opening hours feed local listings; people and credentials are optional and only shown where you publish them; policies (cancellation, refunds, privacy) are what agents quote back to customers. The wizard steps are locations, people and policies.

5. Choose surfaces and conversion types (5 minutes)

The general pack requires structured data (JSON-LD), llms.txt, an MCP server and a business profile, and recommends the rest. Conditional surfaces switch on from the graph: a purchase feed only appears when you offer something that can be bought outright. Enable the conversion types that fit: the general pack starts with enquiry, booking and checkout by hand-off; quote, sign-up and the others are one setting away. See Conversion types.

6. Publish (3 minutes)

curl -s -X POST https://app.fondaq.ai/v1/merchants/$MID/projections/run -H "Authorization: Bearer $AGORA_API_KEY" \
  -H "Agora-Version: 2026-10-25" -H "Idempotency-Key: qs-publish-001"
curl -s https://app.fondaq.ai/v1/merchants/$MID/projections -H "Authorization: Bearer $AGORA_API_KEY" -H "Agora-Version: 2026-10-25"

Each surface is validated before it publishes. A blocking error keeps the previous version live and tells you the entity and field to fix.

7. Test with an agent (10 minutes)

Point any MCP client at https://app.fondaq.ai/mcp/<your-slug>, or use the console's Playground. List the tools, search your offerings and start the conversion you enabled. Unsigned agents are served at a limited tier; sign requests with Web Bot Auth to be verified (see MCP server). Then open Agent Lab to run a mission against your own surfaces and Visibility to see the first sampled answers.

Done

You now have a published Business Graph, live agent surfaces and a working conversion. Next: webhooks to hear about conversions as they happen, the site SDK to attribute hand-offs on your own site, and Add your industry if your business deserves its own pack.
